Swifte

Swifte is car sharing app and is niche theme of snapryde

Project Overview

Swifte is a car-sharing application developed as a niche extension of the SnapRyde platform, designed to support everyday commuting beyond campus environments. While SnapRyde focused primarily on student-based ride-sharing within university boundaries, Swifte expands the concept to serve a broader audience such as corporate employees, residential communities, and city commuters. As the UX Designer, I adapted the successful foundation of SnapRyde to a new user group by redefining user journeys, incorporating trust-building features, and emphasizing commuter efficiency. The goal was to provide a reliable, secure, and user-friendly experience for people looking to share rides on a daily basis.

The Challenge
  • Adapting a Student-Focused Model for a Broader Audience
  • Ensuring Trust and Safety Among Strangers
  • Designing for Recurring, Scheduled Commutes
  • Making Matching and Route Optimization Seamless
  • Cost Splitting and Transparency
  • Maintaining Simplicity Without Losing Functionality
  • Brand Differentiation from SnapRyde
The Solution
  • Redesigned onboarding and profile flows to accommodate more varied ride preferences (e.g., quiet rides, recurring schedules, preferred co-passengers).
  • Introduced features such as ID verification, vehicle detail sharing, and ride approval controls.
  • Designed calendar-based views to help users plan weekly commutes and coordinate recurring carpools easily.
  • Developed user flows for smart route matching, leveraging location data, availability, and time preferences.
  • Integrated in-app payment gateways for easy, cashless cost sharing, and added receipt generation for transparency.
  • Prioritized progressive disclosure in UI—showing basic ride details upfront and surfacing advanced options only when needed.
  • Developed a distinct brand identity for Swifte—while keeping the design system loosely aligned with SnapRyde for development efficiency.
